Andrew Johnson was born here on December 29th, 1808. He was born in a kitchen, which was part of Casso's Inn, where his father worked.  When Casso's Inn was demolished, the Kitchen was preserved and moved into Mordecai Historical Park.  A plaque sits on the site of Casso's Inn.

The oldest building on the college campus now houses the Presidential Library and Museum for Andrew Johnson.

Grave: Greeneville, TN

After Johnson died from a stroke in 1875, rumor has it that he was buried wrapped in an American flag with a copy of the Constitution beneath his head.
